The Land Of Promise turned 170  years old on the 19th of March 2010 

We celebrated this occasion on Saturday the 20th of March. Free admission and complimentary cocktail food was available throughout the evening.

With the onus on business and householders to comply with water restrictions the installation of modular rainwater tanks is proving to be a hit with the convservationists. Ten tanks similar to the photo (above) from eco tanks have been installed to form the perimeter fence. These tanks are plumbed to the new toilets as well as the garden irrigation system.

The beer garden is about to undergo a unique transformation. Upon licensing approvals, the extension and upgrade of the existing area will accommodate a spacious, open-air modernised landscape for both smokers and non-smokers. 

The image below portrays an example of a vertical garden. There are many variations to this form of garden but most rely on the principal of plants growing in a suspended medium and being fed by hydroponic nutrients.  We look forward to showing you our own vertical garden once is has been installed. 

The Land Of Promise has had a resident galah in the front bar for many years. His name is "Aussie" and he loves the company of diners and drinkers alike.  

Coming soon are a couple of "Sun Conures" like the  two pictured here (left). They are lovely little parrots with a lot of personality.They too will enjoy the attention of diners and drinkers.
